e lock™
Emitter Authenticator
Vehicle ModuleIntersection Module

e lock™ was created to safeguard the integrity of intersections outfitted with special detectors which allow approaching responders to preempt or change traffic lights from red to green.

The e lock™ system, which includes a small, vehicle-mounted black box and an intersection unit at each traffic cabinet, relies on radio signals and a sophisticated set of algorithms to authenticate emitters. To enhance security, e lock’s™ user-programmable passwords and challenge codes are irretrievable and the authentication information sent from the vehicle to the intersection never repeats. The wireless signals utilized by e lock™ are encrypted and implement a US government standard, SHA-1, secure authentication system for vehicles requesting preemption. Thus, without the proper authentication signal, all unauthorized drivers -- even those with coded emitters -- will be ignored. Also, e lock™ retrofits to all previously manufactured preemption systems.

Mutual aid is enhanced with e lock™. Multi-jurisdiction metropolitan areas cooperate seamlessly by establishing mutually agreed upon area-wide passwords without divulging each member systems local password.

e lock™ offers the following features and benefits:

  • Uses hack-proof, US Government developed, SHA-1 authentication standard to restore control of your community’s preemption system to community leaders.
  • Allows seamless mutual aid over any size area with no loss of security.
  • Saves money by adding state-of-the-art vehicle coding and logging to older non-coded preemption systems without purchasing new preemption hardware.

Software

The elock™ configuration software provides total control over the elock™ authentication system allowing you to define all system parameters for the vehicle and intersection modules.

The event data logging system records the status of emergency lights, sirens and preemption emitters and provides time stamping of emergency vehicle activity.

The software can also disable a vehicle module if one is stolen or misused.
